This small batch syrup is produced from the sap of the Alaska Birch (Betula neoalaskana) tree in Kasilof, Alaska. It's a taste unique to Alaska and one that is sure to please. Try it in a latte or on baked salmon and veggies! Birch syrup requires 110 gallons of sap to make just 1 gallon of syrup. In comparison, maple syrup is 40 gallons of sap to 1 gallon of syrup.
EARLY RUN: light and sweet and produced in the first week of the season. LATE RUN: As the season progresses the minerals and sugars in the syrup change and the syrup becomes darker, tangier and bolder.
1.76oz (50ml) bottle of birch syrup: Comes in a small glass flask style bottle.
